SUMMARY 

The Director of Operations is a key leadership role within an organization responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operational activities to ensure efficiency, productivity, and profitability. Their duties typically include managing personnel, optimizing processes, setting, and achieving operational goals, overseeing budgets and financial performance, implementing policies and procedures, and collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and alignment with organizational objectives. In essence, they act as a bridge between the strategic vision of the company and its day-to-day execution, striving to enhance performance and drive continuous improvement across all operational functions.  This position is a unique opportunity as a game changer in the long term success of the organization.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead the opening of 5-6 retail operations on an annual basis over the next 5 years, locations to include food, beverage, and gaming  

  • Negotiate contracts for purchase of locations as the retail operations grow 

  • Successfully run a growing multi-unit operation in the food, beverage, and gaming space  

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous improvement efforts 

  • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to optimize operational efficiency, improve performance, and achieve organizational goals 

  • Allocate and manage all resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to support operational activities and initiatives, and ensuring efficient use of resources 

  • Navigate the Gaming Industry limitations and laws for the state of Montana in relation to the opening of casino retail operations  

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to operational teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning 

  • Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in operational processes and systems, developing risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards; communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and clients, to provide updates on operational performance, address concerns, and solicit feedback 

  • Stay attuned to market trends, sharing strategic insights with teams, leadership, and stakeholders 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 10+ years of relevant experience managing across multiple retail locations at once, with a strong operations background 

  • Based in or around Billings, MT 

  • Extensive Food, Beverage, and Gaming experience, listed by order of preference  

  • Successful record running multi-unit organization with both sales and operational responsibility 

  • Experience building, implementing, and iterating on new processes from the ground up 

  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership ability, team management and interpersonal skills 

  • Ability to travel up to 50% travel required in the state of Montana  

  • Ability to prepare and present advanced reports and business correspondence; excellent written and verbal communication skills
